Hi,

I dropped my laptop and since then the monitor seems to be off. but I can still see a faint window logo when it's loading.
Is there a way to fix it?

It sounds like your backlight is broken.

However, in some cases it might be the sleep actuator that might be stuck. On older laptops, it is a small rubbery knob usually next to the hinges. On newer computer it is magnetic.

Make sure they are not stuck or something hinders their functions, otherwise you might have to fix the back light and it may cost you a few hundred of dollars to replace it!

ASUS (Republic of Gamer) is a very good gaming laptop. "BestBuy" sells them locally if you have one in your town or you can order online. I have an ASUS G60 series (16"; i5, Win7(64 bit), 1G dedicated graphics) and can play all games on it with a steady frame rate of 60+ at "all" times. My specs are at least what your minimum requirements are posted above though a little different. Cost was well under $1000.00 like $800. My model suite me fine because I have it for school and work but like games like WOW and such. This brand is new to me however, I am an extremely satisfied customer as of date.
