Hi,
Does anyone out there have an idea why my computer won't start? It powers up but after that nothing, all I get is there is no signal received on the monitor. Tried changing the graphics card no luck, swapped the monitor no luck.
Hopefully you will have an idea.
Regards,
Steve. |

What do you mean by "It powers up but after that nothing", do you mean the fan starts? but nothing else happens!
That could mean the motherboard is fried!
Give us more details if something else than the fan starts.

I had the same problem, and for me it is the motherboard that is causing the problem. Try checking your motherboard. |

No signal doesn't mean no connection. It means it recognizes there is a connection but there is nothing coming down the wire.
Try reseating the card in the computer - and since it's been laying around for a while you may want to reseat just about everything else you can get your fingers on.
Recheck both ends of the monitor cable. Sometimes there are plugs both ends.
Good luck.
