I have bought a new videocard for my pc but I can't get nothing out of it.
what should I do? |

the first thing to do would be to make sure the card is seated properly. those new to installing their own cards often don't realize the amount of forced needed to insert the card (but not too much! )
do you get any video out, and is it distorted, is the entire screen black, etc?
are you sure the card is good -- determined by testing it in another system. |

Go into BIOS and look for the integrated graphics option and make sure it is disabled and then plug the monitor into the new graphics card output.
Ensure any external power plugs are connected too - you may have a separate power cable from yr PSU that you have to connect (usually 6 pin and there are aften two of them to connect with newer more powerful cards).
