Hi,

I haven't used my computer for a few months and can't remember my password now!
I don't know much about computers, is there an easy way to recover my windows password?

Thanks,

Petra

The easies trick to recover your windows password is to login as administrator. Often this account is left open without password so if you're lucky you can use it to reset your password.
On the screen where you are supposed to enter your password (login screen) press your keyboard keys Ctrl Alt Del together (you may have to do it twice), then you will get another window with your account name written in it. Delete it and type: administrator and leave the password area blank, then press enter. If you are lucky, your computer will enter windows desktop screen (if not, you the troubleshooting process is more complicated, so just send us another request and we'll try to guide you through).

So now, you are supposed to have a desktop screen, thus you will click on start, then control panel, then user Accounts. Then click on your account and click on change your password. Obviously you type whatever password you like, save it and then restart your computer et Voila!

Good luck.

This is a very good proven program.Download the iso file. You need to write the image to disk, and not simply copy the file onto a cd.

Here's How:
1.Click on Start and then Control Panel.

2.Click on the User Accounts link.

Note: If you're viewing the Classic View of Control Panel, double-click on the User Accounts icon.

3.In the pick an account to change area of the User Accounts window, click on your Windows XP user name.

4.Choose the Change my password link.

5.In the first text box, enter your existing password.

6.In the next two text boxes, enter the password you would like to start using.

Entering the password twice helps to make sure that you typed your new password correctly.

7.Click the Change Password button to confirm your changes.

8.You can now close the User Accounts window and the Control Panel window.

9.Now that your Windows XP logon password has been changed, you must use your new password to log on to Windows XP from this point forward.
