| I have a mini that I got some water on, and now it stopped functioning correctly. The mini will power on for about 5-10 seconds and then shut off. I believe the monitor is shot, but I have taken the entire unit apart and I havent found any other visible damage. I have tried to boot using an external monitor but nothing is displayed. When it boots up I hear the system fan, and the monitor lights up but with lines and obvious water damag. any ideas on troubleshooting what else might need repair? When I boot I dont hear any hard drive activity. |

It's not a matter of drying out, it's a matter of the mineral deposits left on the circuitry in the keyboard that are shorting things out. (Unless it was triple-distilled water, injected right onto the board, it'll have, or have picked up, minerals.)
Warranties on electronic equipment normally do not cover water damage (and it will be very evident that it's water damage after a few more days), but if you don't say anything, just that it's not working, they may just replace the keyboard under warranty without looking inside it.
